Our local Barnes and Noble sells it as does a small mom-and-pop bookstore in town. We got one at Bath and Body Works when we went to a special AG party. My DD isn't into it yet, but a 9-year-old might be. You could go to B&BW and get her the magazine and other goodies. Ours also sells a little AG "gift bag" for the products that's made out of durable material (I used a similar one made out of denim a few years ago as a small diaper bag).

I shared it with a friend in the age range. She liked it for a while, but soon got into the habit of just flipping through it in a few moments and then not wanting to read it any more. I really miss the old AG mag, but I know many of us feel that way!

I guess my main comment was the (in my opinion) waste of space in the magazine. Sometimes there would be two pages used just for the *title* of an article! There are always two pages with clip-art. They call them posters, but they're from a clip-art company. The magazine used to be just packed with information; now it's more like they're putting any old thing on the pages at times, just to meet the page requirements. The design is nice, but I don't feel there's much substance to the magazine anymore. For girls who love visuals more than reading, I think they would really like it. There are a lot of photos and awfully cute drawings, as well as generous helpings of purple and pink.

There are a lot of things in it for girls who aren't "girly girls," so I think girls of a wide range would enjoy it. There's a lot of friendship information, stories, and games, and usually crafts and recipes.

My response is mixed, because I think many girls would enjoy it; but yet I'm disappointed at the changes it has gone under. I also worry the novelty will wear off, as it did with my friend.
